THE STORY...
Freddie Mercury and Queen are known around the world for their music and live shows and have been rockin' the world for 50 years. As an extremely hard working band, Queen purchased Mountain Studios in Montreux, Switzerland where many of their albums were recorded. Since, Freddie's death, The Mercury Phoenix Trust has hosted the "Official Freddie Mercury Birthday Party" at Casino Barriere de Montreux for many years. For the second year in a row, COVID has forced the party to be cancelled. Freddie would not be stopped from celebrating his 75th birthday and we will help him celebrate around the world with this virtual party....run, walk, swim, dance, crawl, etc.
WHY 5.43K?...
5.43K represents the 543 miles from Freddie's home, Garden Lodge, in London to his statue that overlooks Lake Geneva. Of course, any participant is welcome to do the full 543 miles in walking or running but we only require 5.43K.
THE CHARITY...
50% of the registration goes to The Mercury Phoenix Trust (MPT) in memory of the iconic Freddie Mercury who died from HIV/AIDS in 1991. The Trust is a core part of rock band Queen and Freddie’s legacy, with the passion and power behind the music forming the bedrock of the MPT.
The MPT has raised millions in the fight against HIV/AIDS worldwide, providing large sums of money to over 1000 projects in 57 countries!
THE MEDAL...
In true over-the-top Freddie fashion the medal is a massive 4" main 3-Dimensional Medal filled with faux gemstones, faux fur with a dangling ribbon completing an overall spectacular 6" long design.

Freddie Mercury and Queen are an inspiration to people all over the world, crossing into all demographics over many decades with legendary musical talents. He continued to record and perform while AIDS was taking his gift away from all of us. Now more than ever as we leap into a much more inclusive world does Freddie's legend and this virtual event symbolize a new world togetherness.

We expect a substantial number of orders from outside the US for this race. International shipping rates are calculated at checkout and we highly recommend gathering friends and family to register together and save big on shipping fees.
